
Wout Hofman (male) is currently self-employed senior data scientist and business – and IT architect. He explores raising a company for LLM based data transformation. He holds a PhD in information technology on the development of a what is called a supply and logistics control tower. During his professional work with TNO and other organizations, he has broad experience in interoperability between organization and systems, especially in supply, logistics, and digital product passports. Amongst others Wout has worked for the EC (DG Taxud – interoperability design of the Transit system and DG JAI – Architecture of Schengen II) as an IT architect and has written the initial specification of the Rotterdam port system. He has broad experience in customs and international trade. In the last decade, he has been responsible for IT in various EU and national funded projects (e.g. EU FP7 SEC Cassandra, – CORE, PROFILE, and Dutch blockchain projects). Wout provides technical support to the Digital Transport and Logistics Forum on behalf of EU DG Move. He drafts all concept documents of DTLF Subgroup 2 for creating a federated network of platforms. He has been the architect of th CEF funded FEDeRATED Action, which provides input to the DTLF. Wout also provided input to the Dutch Digital Transport Strategy and supports the Ministry in constructing the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI) and electronic Freight Information (eFTI) Regulation. Wout is also the architect of the Digital Inland Waterways Architecture developed on behalf of EC DG Move and drafted a vision for data sharing in inland waterways and rail on behalf of the Ministry of IenW. Wout is the author of over 110 scientific publications and author of three books on interoperability and chain management in supply and logistics.
