Eduard Rodes, in 2006, founded the Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport, which offers specialized training and education to students and professionals in intermodal transport, particularly in the Mediterranean and European regions. Under his leadership, the Escola has designed and led several international European projects, such as the creation of the Escola itself (2E3S), the GLAD project (Green Logistics Action and Deployment), and the LIFE project for rail intermodality (Logistics Intermodal Freight Enhancement) involving countries like Portugal, France, Spain, and Italy. In the Mediterranean, he has also designed and led the YEP-MED project (Youth Employment in Ports of the Mediterranean), with participation from Spain, France, Italy, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, with the participation of the port authorities of Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Marseille, Ports of Rome, Rades-La Goulette, Damietta (Egypt), Aqaba (Jordan) and the Beirut Chamber of Commerce.

Eduard is a proponent of sustainable and efficient transport practices, emphasizing the importance of short sea shipping, railway, and intermodal transport. He has received numerous awards and international recognition for his contributions to the field. Currently, Eduard leads the Escola Europea and actively participates in global conferences and forums. He is a respected figure in the port-logistics and maritime sector, and his insights and guidance continue to shape the future of shipping and port management worldwide. His latest project has been the development of the Port Virtual Lab (pvl.one), a platform already in use in countries such as the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa, with ongoing expansion globally. Additionally, Eduard serves as the president of the Port Logistics Knowledge International Academy (plika.org), a collaborative network aimed at advancing logistics knowledge and practices worldwide.

In recognition of his educational work he received the Mediterranean Medal Issued by Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) in Nov 2023.
